AllTrails Stewards Fund Application

Frequently asked questions

What is the purpose of the fund?

The AllTrails Stewards Fund is part of our commitment to protecting the trails and spaces we love. We’re dedicated to making nature more accessible, and that means supporting organizations that maintain, improve, and restore these vital resources. The fund is for trail projects that expand outdoor access and preserve outdoor spaces.  We're looking to help tangible projects with strong community support and strategies for long-term sustainability.

What are the eligibility requirements for the fund?

To be considered for a donation, organizations must:

  • Be a current 1% for the Planet vetted environmental partner or meet the criteria to become one
  • Hold non-profit or charitable organization registration status
  • Directly implement and manage the proposed project
  • Demonstrate readiness to complete the project within 12 months of receiving funding
  • Have a specific project that needs funding (note: we do not fund general operation budgets through this fund)
  • If this project works on a trail, it should be on publicly accessible land (entrance fees or land trust areas ok)
  • Be an active member of the AllTrails Public Lands Program, or be willing to join. This collaborative program helps better inform visitors and improve the experience of both visitors and trail managers.
